Armour
Cheap Heavy Leather BreastplateTorso protection at a bargain price. Keep your enemy in front of you, and don’t get stabbed.
Provides DR 2 (-1 vs Imp) to your torso from the front only. Weighs 10lb. Costs $40.

Cheap Heavy Segmented BreastplateSolid torso protection at a reasonable cost, and significant weight.
Provides DR 4 to your torso from the front only. Weighs 16lb. Costs $240.
- Add a cheap light segmented DR 2 back plate. Weighs 8lb. Costs $120.
- Make it extra thick! Add 8lb and $120 for each +1 DR, up to DR 14.

Heavy Copper Pectoral PlateHeavy protection for your vitals, ideal for turning away a knife or arrow from the front. Can be integrated with other torso armour, but DR does not stack on the vitals.
Provides DR 8 to the upper chest vitals from the front only. Weighs 1.6lb. Costs $200
- Make it extra thick! Add 0.2lb and $25 for each +1 DR, up to DR 14.
- Add a back pectoral section. Double cost.

Cheap Medium Plate Flat Skull Helm w/ paddingA solid basic helmet, with options for expanding it’s protection capabilities.
Provides DR 6 to your skull. Weighs 6lb. Costs $110
- Add a visor and brim, giving full protection to the face. Add $80 and 1.6lb. Gives Hard of Hearing and No Peripheral Vision.
- Add a cheap heavy scale DR 4 Aventail for neck protection. Add $22 and 0.8lb.

Cheap Light-ish Plate GreavesProtection for your legs, about half the time and only from the front.
Provides DR 3 to the front of your legs 50% of the time (1-3 on a d6). Weighs 3lb. Costs $150
- Make it extra thick! Add 1lb and $50 per +1 DR, up to DR 10.
- Add cheap medium segmented plate, DR 3, to the front of the thighs and knees for full leg protection. Add $90 and 6lb.

Cheap Light-ish Plate BracersProtection for your arms, about half the time and only from the front.
Provides DR 3 to the front of your arms 50% of the time (1-3 on a d6). Weighs 1.5lb. Costs $75
- Make it extra thick! Add 0.5lb and $25 per +1 DR, up to DR 10.
- Add cheap medium segmented plate, DR 3, to the front of the thighs and knees for full leg protection. Add $45 and 3lb.

Heavy CloakA warm blanket on a cold night, and a precious last line of defense in a melee if you’ve got nothing else.
- Provides DB 2 if used with one hand to ward away attacks. Gives +1 DR against missile weapons if used as a arrow curtain. Weighs 5lb, costs $50.
- Has DR 1, HP 5, and provides cover DR of 2 to anything behind it.
- Can be used a cloak to entangle people, using your cloak skill instead of a grappling skill.

Large Light Shield w/out bossA light piece of wood between you and the enemy can make all the difference in the world. Don’t expect it to take very many hits before needing to be replaced.
- Provides DB 3, and is strapped to the arm wearing it. Weighs 8lb. Costs $43.
- Has DR 2, HP 18, and provides cover DR 6 to anything behind it.
- Does not have a boss, has -1 to normal damage from a shield bash or slam.

Weapons
Poorly Balanced Regular BowSomething to protect yourself at a decent range, at a rock bottom price. Bow ST is decided at creation.
Does Thr+1 imp, has Acc 1, Range x15/x20, weighs 2lb, and costs $40.

Poorly Balanced ArrowsCheap arrows let you throw plenty of fire at your enemy at a minimal cost.
Each arrow weighs 0.1lb, costs $0.8, and gives -1 to bow when used.

Well Balanced ArrowsHigh quality arrows fly truer, letting you hit targets more accurately. Quality doesn’t come cheap, but you often fire very few arrows in combat anyway.
Each arrow weighs 0.1lb, costs $10, and gives +1 to bow when used.

SlingThey’re hard to use, but you can’t beat the price or the weight. If you carry nothing else, carry a sling.
Does Sw pi, has Acc 0, Range x6/x10, weighs 0.5lb, and costs $20.
- Shaped sling bullets cost $0.06 each (16 for $1). Unshaped stones are free, but give -1 to skill.
- Lead sling bullets cost $0.10 (10 for $1), double range, and give +1 to damage.

Cheap Large KnifeIf you carry nothing else to protect yourself in this dangerous world, carry a knife.
Does sw-2 cut at reach 1,C and thr imp at reach C. Weighs 1lb, costs $16, and has -1 to parry.
- Reverse grip it for +1 to imp damage, -2 to swing damage and parry, and limiting it to reach C.

Cheap Long KnifeA long knife is a dangerous weapon, capable of cuts and stabs at reach 1, with no penalty to parry and using an easy skill. If you’ve got some spare cash, it’s worth the investment.
- Does sw-1 cut at reach 1,C and thr imp at reach 1,C. Weighs 1.5lb, costs $48.
- Reverse grip it for +1 to imp damage, -2 to swing damage and parry, and limiting it to reach C.

Cheap Long SpearIf you have friends to keep your enemies away from you, a spear lets you safely attack from a distance. Especially powerful when used in groups.
- Does thr+3 imp in two hands, thr+2 imp in one. Has reach 2,3* in either case. Weighs 5lb and costs $24.

Melee NetAn entangled opponent can be out of a fight completely, or at least long enough to stab to death. Carry a backup weapon, you only get to throw it once
- Weighs 5lb, costs $20.
- Max range of ST + (Net/5). Must be dodged or parried, otherwise target is entangled and can’t attack or move. Escaping the net requires three successful DX-1 rolls in a row. Three failures in a row indicates complete entanglement, and you must be cut out. Can also be cut with a reach C weapon.

Cheap AxeAs useful for wood splitting as it is for head splitting. An axe is a potent cutting weapon.
- Does sw+2 cut at reach 1, and has an unbalanced parry. Weighs 4lb, costs $20.
- Wield it with two hands for + 1 damage. Uses two handed axe/mace skill then.
- Add an extra axe head on the reverse. Add 1lb and $12.
- Add a cheap pick head on the reverse. Does sw+1 imp. Add 0.5lb and $20.

Unbalanced Throwing AxeIf you want to throw something in combat, make it a throwing axe. You’re often better off with a bow.
- Does sw+2 cut, range x1/x1.5, acc 1. Weighs 4lb, costs $24.
- Can be used as a cheap axe in combat.

Improvised Weapons
SickleUsually used for cutting grasses, can also be used for gutting foes.
- Does sw cut or sw imp at reach 1. The impaling swing has an unbalanced parry and can get stuck. Can be used to hook, and does thr-2 cut damage then. Weighs 2lb. Costs $40.
- Can be made at cheap quality instead of good. Costs $16 instead.

PitchforkBeware the angry farmer, because the pitchfork is a dangerous weapon to the unarmoured.
- Does thr+2(0.5) imp damage in one hand, or thr+3(0.5) in two. Parry is unbalanced in one hand.
- Gives -2 to spear skill.
- Breaks as if cheap quality.

ShovelIt’s not sophisticated, but it can crack your skull open if you aren’t careful.
- Does sw+4 cr damage at reach 1,2*. Parry is unbalanced, and weapon must be re-readied after each attack.
- Gives -2 to two handed/axe mace skill.
- Breaks as if cheap quality.

Iron PanIt can be used for more than cooking breakfast.
- Does sw+3 cr damage at reach 1. Parry is unbalanced.
- Gives -2 to axe/mace skill. Can also be wielded as a small iron shield at -1 to shield skill (DB 1).
- Breaks as if good quality.

Lit TorchA stick that’s on fire is worse than a stick that isn’t on fire[citation needed]
- Does sw cr and thr cr at reach 1, with 1 point of burning damage added as well. Weighs 1lb, costs $3.
- Breaks as if of cheap quality.
- Is completely destroyed if it parries a weapon that weighs 3lb or more.

Unbroken BottleWhen bar fights turn deadly, a bottle can be surprisingly deadly.
- Does sw-1 cr damage at reach 1.
- Gives -2 to axe/mace skill.
- Breaks on a 1-3 on a d6 on any hit or parry. On a 1, you take thrust cutting damage to your hand.
- Becomes a broken bottle when it breaks.

Broken Bottle -When your bottle breaks, it’s still a deadly weapon.
- Does sw-3 cut at reach C,1 or thr-1 imp at reach C.
- Gives -2 to knife skill.
- Breaks on a 1-3 on a d6 on any hit or parry. On a 1, you take thrust cutting damage to your hand.
- Cannot Parry.

Chair or StoolGetting hit by a chair can’t be good, right?
- Does sw+4 cr damage at reach 1,2*. Parry is unbalanced, and the weapon must be re-readied after each attack. When used defensively, acts as a DB2 shield with -1 to shield skill.
- Gives -2 to two handed axe/mace skill.
- Breaks as if cheap quality.

Example Loadouts
The Angry PeasantCan be purchased using only 20% of starting wealth ($150), so they may have this equipment just lying around. About 25lb, plus any other equipment being carried.

The Budget WarriorPerhaps their a woodsman, muscle for hire, or a member of a proper militia. Regardless, they have all of their starting wealth ($750) tied up in proper equipment. About 40lb, plus any other equipment being carried.

- A medium plate flat top skull helm ($110)
- Light-ish greaves and bracers ($225)
- A large shield w/out boss ($43)
- A cheap regular bow ($40) w/ 10 cheap arrows ($8)
